Beyond the SHIELD range

Other products & services

The SHIELD range is what IFI manufactures. These are the other materials we supply and install when a project genuinely calls for them — from dry-installed batts to complete insulated panel envelopes.

Every project has different performance requirements. While the SHIELD range is at the core of what we do, some projects call for a different approach — a cold room needs a panel, a fire-rated build-up may need stone fibre, and a cavity that is only open briefly needs a batt. From glass and stone mineral wool to insulated panels, IFI can supply alternative products where the application calls for them, so the solution is driven by what the project needs, not simply by what we manufacture.

ECOWOOL

ECOWOOL glass mineral wool, manufactured by PGF Insulation in Malaysia — one of Southeast Asia's largest glass mineral wool makers, in the industry since 1984 — and imported by IFI for projects that call for a dry-installed batt.

ECOWOOL is the batt product IFI supplies when a cavity has to be filled dry. It is non-combustible, engineered to be softer to touch with less dust and less itch during installation, and made with anti-formaldehyde technology and high recycled content — the low-allergen choice where indoor air quality is a stated concern. The range is GreenTag and Green Building Index certified.

It comes as batts and rolls for ceilings, walls and acoustic partitions, across residential and commercial work — including foil-faced roofing blanket for metal roofs. Installation is dry: cut to shape and placed into open wall or roof cavities before they are closed up — straightforward where a sprayed application is impractical or the cavity is only open briefly.

Stone-fibre mineral wool

Rockwool

Mineral wool made from stone fibre — an excellent soundproofing material and a fire-safe insulation solution.

Rockwool earns its place where fire performance is the governing requirement, or where a specification names mineral wool by product rather than by performance and there is no scope to substitute.

It also handles high service temperatures that organic insulations are not suited to — plant rooms, flues, industrial equipment enclosures. Rock wool is also available as a fire-resistant core in our sandwich panel range; batts and slabs are supplied to order.

Insulated panel systems

PUR / PIR, EPS & mineral wool sandwich panels

Steel-skinned insulated panels with a choice of cores — a structural wall or roof and its insulation in one element. The distinction from the SHIELD range matters: a panel is the wall, while SHIELD systems insulate a structure that already exists.

Where panels win

Extreme and hygiene-critical environments

Panels are the answer in cold rooms, chillers and freezers, food processing halls, clean rooms and prefabricated enclosures. The range runs from economical EPS-core panels through high-efficiency PIR — thermal conductivity down to 0.022 W/mK — to fire-resistant mineral-wool cores, in thicknesses from 30 to 250 mm, with dedicated profiles for roofs, cold rooms and hidden-fastener architectural walls.

IFI supplies panels manufactured to the EN 14509 sandwich panel standard with factory production control and independently tested burning behaviour. The full panel catalogue is available from our sales team on request.

The range

A core for every job

Six panel families, one system: pick the core by what governs the project — thermal efficiency, fire, hygiene, or budget.

PIR / PIR+ roof & wall panels — sandwich panel

PIR / PIR+ roof & wall panels

Polyisocyanurate core

The high-efficiency core. PIR reaches a thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK — the warmest panel per millimetre of thickness — with tested burning behaviour, in dedicated roof profiles and flat wall panels.

Cold room panels — sandwich panel

Cold room panels

PUR / PIR core, thick sections

Built for chillers, freezers, cold stores and food processing halls: thick PUR / PIR cores with tight interlocking joints, so the envelope holds its temperature and its hygiene rating.

Up to 250 mm · interlocking joints
EPS core panels — sandwich panel

EPS core panels

Expanded polystyrene core

The economical workhorse. EPS-core panels suit warehouses, partitions, site offices and enclosures where the demands are moderate and the budget leads the specification.

Mineral wool fibre panels

Non-combustible stone fibre core

The fire-resistant core. Non-combustible mineral wool fibre for fire-rated walls, escape routes and plants where fire performance governs the specification — the same stone fibre we supply as Rockwool.

PUR + glass / rock wool hybrid — sandwich panel

PUR + glass / rock wool hybrid

Polyurethane with mineral wool

A hybrid build that pairs polyurethane with glass or rock wool in one panel — chosen where a project needs a balance of fire performance, stiffness and thermal efficiency.

Solar-ready roof panels — sandwich panel

Solar-ready roof panels

Roof panels with PV mounting

Roof panels engineered to carry photovoltaics: the PV mounting clamps fix mechanically to the panel seam, keeping the roof weather-tight while the solar array goes on top.
