The challenge
An open-plan call-centre floor is a hard acoustic environment: hundreds of simultaneous conversations, hard finishes, exposed services and a slab soffit that reflects every one of them straight back down. Without absorption at the ceiling plane, agents raise their voices to be heard, which raises the noise floor again — the effect compounds through a shift.
What IFI did
IFI specified NoiseSHIELD sprayed directly to the slab soffit and around the exposed services above the working floor, so absorption sits across the whole ceiling plane rather than in discrete panels. Because the system is sprayed, it closes around ducts, trays, hangers and sprinkler pipework without the cutting, fitting and edge gaps a panel system needs.
The outcome
Treatment was extended through the kitchen and recreation spaces as well as the call-centre floors, giving consistent acoustic character across the tenancy. IFI teams worked inside the fit-out contractor's programme so the insulation trade did not hold up services or ceiling close-up.
