The challenge
A large auditorium built for touring musical theatre has to control reverberation without deadening the room, and it has to do it behind an architecturally finished ceiling. Nothing the acoustician specifies can be visible from a seat.
What IFI did
NoiseSHIELD was applied above the finished ceiling line, where it absorbs energy in the void rather than competing with the visible surfaces. The sprayed system follows the geometry of the structure exactly, which matters in a space where the roof plane is anything but flat.
The outcome
The venue got the absorption the acoustic design called for while the audience sees only the intended finish. The project remains one of IFI's most-referenced installations with hospitality and entertainment clients.
