The challenge
Tunnel-ventilated broiler housing lives or dies on climate control. Radiant heat through an uninsulated roof pushes house temperature above target in the middle of the day, a leaky ceiling plane undermines the static pressure the fans are working to hold, and rain on bare sheeting is a genuine stressor on the flock.
What IFI did
AgriSHIELD was applied across the drop-ceiling plane of each house, giving a continuous insulated and air-tightened surface between the bird zone and the roof space. Borate treatment matters here: the material has to resist mold, insects and rodents in a warm, humid, high-ammonia building.
The outcome
Houses hold target temperature more consistently through the day, ventilation behaves as designed, and rain noise into the bird zone is materially reduced. Works were scheduled into the cleanout window between batches so no placement was lost to the insulation programme.
