The challenge
Adjoining office suites in a premium building share drywall partitions. An empty stud cavity is an excellent transmission path — conversations, calls and meetings carry between tenancies, which is a commercial problem as much as a comfort one.
What IFI did
WallSHIELD was dense-packed into the partition cavities before boarding, filling completely around studs, noggings and services. At 3 inches installed thickness the material reaches NRC 1.0 — the top of IFI's tested absorption range.
The outcome
Sound isolation between suites was brought up without changing the partition specification, the wall thickness or the finishes. Installation was sequenced into the drywall contractor's programme as a single visit per floor.
